Cricket returns to the Playing Feilds

The Parish Council having been working hard to find Cogenhoe Cricket Club a new home and to bring the game back to its original home of the playing fields after it found itself homeless. A grant has been obtained from the English Cricket Board to install a new all weather carpet & wicket. Progress detailing the discussions on this project can be found in the minutes of the council meetings & the Village Hall Committee meetings (attached to the meeting date in the calendar).

Recent risk assessments have highlighted that the skate park cannot remain if everyone is to be able to play safely in the different areas of the field, including the play area, the decision has therefore be made that it will need to be removed. The football pitch will be moved south by a few metres so that it doesn't overlap the carpet. The Parish Council will be looking at what can be done in the future to develop the basketball area to compensate for the removal of the skate park, any suggestions please let us know.

Village Hall development project

The Village hall is currently undergoing a re-development project to improve the facilities which will mean that the Pre-School can operate in a secure area of the hall whilst other events take place in the York Room. This will provide greater flexibility for hiring of the halls. A new kitchen area is being added off the Main Hall, an additional toilet and a separate entrance & storage room. The plan below shows the work that is being carried out.
