Cogenhoe & Whiston Heritage Society

Cogenhoe & Whiston Heritage Society

The Cogenhoe and Whiston Heritage Society was formed by a small group of villagers anxious to see the heritage of the area preserved for ever. So they started an Oral History Project to put on record the memories of over 50 people who had lived in the area for many years.

The project represented a lot of hard work as interviewing, word-processing, script-writing and many other skills had to be learned. Some of those interviewed were born here, others worked here and still more came to live here but all have, in one way or another, contributed to the history of the village.

Monthly open meetings are held with interesting and engaging speakers on our heritage and the society has a number of members who also give talks on subjects of interest.
